Preheat your gril to 365 degrees
Sear brats for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they have a nice sear and are partially cooked. You want them to be browned on the outside.
Melt butter in skillet. Sauté onions in butter for 7-10 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and continue to sauté for an additional 3 minutes, till fragrant.
Add beer to skillet and bring to a simmer.
Once beer is simmering, add brats and cook for 20-25 minutes until the brats are cooked through. If your brats aren’t covered by beer, add another bottle.
Serve brats with toppings of your choice, with or without a bun.
