Have you ever had Cowboy Candy? If not, you are in for a spicy treat. This is one of my favorite accoutrements for so many different dishes. I’ve put this on burgers, chicken sandwiches, cheese….there are so many possibilities. Take them a step further when adding to a burger, and drain, batter, and fry. Best bottlecap EVER!
They are very simple to make and you can adjust the spice to your personal preference. At our home, we go extreme heat. I add a bit of habanero as well as jalapenos. When you get ready to make these, adjust them to your taste. Leaving out the habanero will not hurt the recipe at all.

Recipe options/highlights:
- If using for burgers, drain slightly. They work well when adding peanut butter to the burger also in lieu of jelly. The peanut butter will help tame the heat a bit. We prefer either American or Swiss cheese with these…or both!
- They are perfect for adding to a charcuterie board. They pair well with any creamy cheese. One of my favs is simply adding them to a cracker with cream cheese. #tailgate
- Don’t have regular vinegar? You can substitute with red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar or rice wine vinegar. Apple cider tends to be the most pungent. You will want to cover the pot while boiling to prevent your home from becoming polluted with the vinegar smell!
- These are also a great gift for Christmas. Add a ribbon around the lid of the mason jar and viola! #ChristmasGift
These will last in the fridge for up to two weeks.
I hope you enjoy and that they make your next meal or get together a hit!
