I am excited to share my Mom’s Sloppy Joes. I cannot tell you how much I love these. Not only are the quick & easy, they taste GREAT as well. I feel like I am back in time whenever I eat these. These are a staple in our household. I always have the ingredients on hand. A1, check. Sweet pickle relish, check. Always ground beef in the freezer. Whenever I make these, I add the Heinz chili sauce to the grocery list. That way I’m always stocked.

What to serve with these? At our house, my youngest will scream tater tots. The ones I make for these, I confess, come out of a bag. I will be sharing a great homemade version very soon. My mom would always have a salad. We had salad with every meal. For some reason, salads always taste better when someone else makes them. I try to add something healthier as a side, but when I am making these, I am either in a crunch for time or missing my Mom. Either way, I don’t want anything very challenging.
Sloppy Joes are such a comfort food. This one won’t disappoint. I will be sharing so many of my Mom’s recipes. She was always such a great cook. What was so amazing about everything she cooked, it always tasted like it HAD to be difficult. Often, the recipes required only a few ingredients. They ALWAYS tasted AMAZING.
So, I am a bit biased. I hope you have the opportunity to try these and if you do, be sure and send me a picture or link to your social media where you posted it. I look forward to hearing from you!
Recipe Tips:
-
-
- Be sure and drain the meat before adding your ingredients, if needed.
- Adjust the relish to taste. My dad never liked relish, so my mom would cut it back.
- I’ve tried some off-brand chili sauce, it doesn’t taste the same. I highly recommend Heinz for this one.
- If you can’t find the chili sauce in your store, you can find it here at Amazon. I am an affiliate with Amazon and may get an incentive if you buy here.
