One of my favorite places to eat at is PF Changs. I absolutely LOVE this spot and my favorite dish is the Mongolian Beef. I’m excited to share a knock off version of the sauce. I’ve tried different versions that I have found online. I have yet to find one that I love, so I decided to try my hand. I think you will like this!
Instead of adding to a beef stir fry, I decided to add it to my families favorite meatballs. These are perfect either as a GREAT party appetizer or served with steamed rice for a main course. How ever you go, you won’t go wrong! This is one of my favorites for a tailgate party, however.

I’m using my basic meatball recipe which can be found here. These are perfect any way you serve them. I love to make large batches when cooking and then freeze what isn’t needed for that dinner. No space in the freezer? I use freezer bags which I lay flat and mark with sharpie the food, date, and time. This stacks beautifully in the freezer freeing up much needed space.
Recipe Highlights:
- Use low sodium soy sauce and any added salt sparingly. The other recipes I have found tend to be really salty which is truly almost impossible to change after the fact.
- If you are using frozen meatballs from a previous cook, add the meatballs to the sauce while cooking. This will warm them without drying them out.
- If you decide to microwave frozen meatballs, wrap them in a damp/wet paper towel to add steam while warming. Do not over warm this way, they will dry out if you do.
