The BEST Crab Dip

A pan of crab dip.

Are you looking for a dip that will WOW?  If so, this is the dip for you.  I have yet to make this one and not have people ask for the recipe and the pan is never empty after serving.  When you skip to the recipe, note that the prep time will vary.  I have the cheese grater attachment for my Kitchenaid standing mixer.  It grates cheese in record time.  If you don’t already have this tool, I would highly recommend the purchase.  It attaches to the front port at the top of the mixer.  It also comes with varying grate sizes.  You won’t be disappointed.

While I also make this without the crab, it’s next level when the crab is added.  Absolutely use real, lump crab meat.  There are so many different ways to serve this one.  I love putting it on a platter with buttery crackers.  It’s also great with warmed pita, garlicky crostini, or even crudites.

Recipe highlights:

  • Be sure and mix all ingredients before adding the crab meat.  While you want to break it down a bit, you don’t want it completely disentigrated.
  • Be sure and pat the pepper and pimentos dry before adding to the mixture.  You don’t want to add extra moisture to this one.
  • Use Mayonnaise.  Miracle whip has a much sweeter taste and a different texture.  That is going to completely change the flavor profile of this recipe.  If you don’t keep Mayo in the fridge, a small jar is just about the right amount.

As always, keep me posted if you make this one.  Tag me and share your pics.  I would love to hear your feedback.
